Strengths


  • Points guide the player through the level
  • "AI" Ghosts can be chosen to race against for an extra challenge.
  • Shortcuts spread throughout to help dodge hazards and catch up to the harder ghosts
  • Short layout to allow players to perfect their times

This is a Halloween themed race level where you fly through and collect points while trying to get to the end. Alone? No worries, there's a ghost for you to race against, if you beat it you gain more points. Careful though, the harder ghosts are known to cheat. Use shortcuts and dodge the hazards in the environment to gain the best time (and subsequently score).


A short level to allow for replayability against harder ghosts or to try and get the perfect run by utilizing all the shortcuts.

Weaknesses


  • The lighting in the level made it quite hard to see where the player was going at some points
  • I could have added more variety into the layout to make some of the twisting sections more enjoyable

Achievements

Glide was created for and entered into the LittleBigPlanet Imagosphere Competition 1. The contest was themed around Halloween. Members of the community were given 4 weeks to develop a level. I came first and won £15 at the time out of 5 other entries.


Judge review:


Fantastic entry! Short-but-fun race level that hits me with the right Halloween vibes. The ghost feature in particular is very well-done, quite unique for LBP, and it offers a challenge for anyone. Great job, man!
